The Glen
at Hiland Meadows

The Glen at Hiland Meadows is a nonprofit organization committed to meeting the forever changing needs of our seniors and their families.

Located on 45 spectacular acres in Queensbury, New York, The Glen at Hiland Meadows is a senior living community consisting of 102 independent one- and two-bedroom apartments, 18 independent two-bedroom cottages, 42 Enhanced Assisted Living apartments at The Terrace at The Glen, and 30 suites in the newly built Memory Care at The Glen which provides assisted living care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other memory loss. The campus is located minutes from the Adirondacks and close to the Glens Falls, Lake George, and Saratoga Springs areas of Upstate New York.

Beyond the access to outstanding facilities and the aforementioned surrounding areas, the most profound distinguishing characteristic of The Glen at Hiland Meadows is the personalized and dedicated staff, devoted to the special needs of our seniors at a very unpredictable and sometimes unsettling time of life. Family members consistently refer to them as the most significant value of a loved one’s time here at The Glen.

The Glen at Hiland Meadows is part of The Eddy Senior Living network of Independent and Enriched Housing/Assisted Living communities serving six locations throughout Upstate New York in Troy, Cohoes, Slingerlands, Niskayuna, Queensbury and East Greenbush.

The Eddy began in 1928 as a 19-bed nursing home – Eddy Memorial – that moved to what is now the Eddy Memorial campus. Today, The Eddy is a comprehensive continuum of healthcare, supportive housing, and community services that reaches 22 counties and serves more than 40,000 people yearly – from newborns to seniors along with their families – helping to maximize quality of life, dignity and independence.

In addition to The Eddy, the other sponsoring partner of The Glen at Hiland Meadows is The Conkling Center, formerly The Glens Falls Home, which opened in 1899. Today, The Conkling Center offers senior directed programs and services including, providing free transportation for adults 55 and over, educational and entertaining programs. The center also distributes funds for purchase of large print books, an ice melt program which takes place every winter to help prevent falls, and volunteer mileage reimbursement.

Recognizing the community need for a larger independent living facility as well as an updated adult care facility, The Conkling Center formed a partnership with The Eddy to develop and build The Glen at Hiland Meadows in 2001. The Glen at Hiland Meadows Board of Directors includes both The Eddy and Conkling Center members, retaining a sense of history and legacy for senior care in the area.
